Initially, hybrid cars were released with a hefty price tag attached to them, which made it much more difficult for consumers to even consider going eco-friendly. Top that off with a three-year waiting list in order to even get close to one and hybrids were originally an unattainable "nice idea" for many. Thankfully, the production has become a little more frequent, the vehicles are more mainstream now and with that has come a more affordable price.
